Congratulations on an Amazing English Day

Our English Day festivities were a perfect contrast to the cloudy skies above on Monday, November 2nd. First, students from 1st-3rd grade performed popular folk and children’s songs from the UK, Ireland, Australia, and the USA. Then we opened up the International Festival–a transformation of our sports fields into a showcase of 10 English-speaking countries prepared by the students from 3rd-11th grade.

Two Vampire Crab Species Found, Are Already Popular Pets

 National Geographics said…

“Vampire crabs, so named because of their glowing yellow eyes, have become popular as pets, but the origin of some of these spooky-looking crustaceans has been cloaked in mystery.

Until now.

Now researchers have traced the freshwater crabs back to their wild source in Southeast Asia—and report that the two most sought-after species are new to science.

The newly described species, Geosesarma dennerle and Geosesarma hagen, were found in separate river valleys on the Indonesian island of Java

“These crabs are kind of special because they’ve been around in the pet trade for ten years, but no one knew where they come from,” said study co-author and professional aquarist Christian Lukhaup of Waiblingen, Germany.”

Last 4th and 5th of October, in Manuel de Salas Theater, there was a presentation of contemporary dance. The dancers were all from the company of that school, except of one dancer that was professional.

The choreographer Vannia Villagrán worked with the students on the setting of this show. They danced all the Beatles album “Love”.

It was a beautiful experience of music and contemporary dance.
