“La Roja” have a bad match against Bolivia

by Juan Pablo Borgoño (9th grade)

This game ended in a draw 2-2. For Chile, Aranguiz and Vidal made the goals and for Bolivia’s goals, Carlos Saucedo. Chile in this match had many problems with the defense, because the 2 goals were defensive errors. In the middle they are very confused and very slow to attack the other team. In the front, they were very good, so fast, but as the other part of the team was playing so badly they had to defend much of what they had to do and it detracted from the attack and scoring the goals needed.

For that Alexis Sánchez, talked to the press and was very angry about the functioning of the team and that a player to give that deep pass was needed and so we can easily get the goal and this work, like Jorge Valdivia, Matías Fernández and David Pizarro, but these three players are no longer in the team.

The coach from Chile, Jorge Sampaoli, said Bolivia played very well, very fast, and they did not waste any scoring opportunity and in the work of Chile said “We lost many opportunities for goals, but we were very disorganized in the game and we couldn’t fix it, that’s why we have to prepare ourselves well for the 2015 American Cup.”

Students Give Opinions about School Uniforms

This week, students discussed their feelings about school uniforms. Here are the best student comments:

“Yes [students should wear uniforms] but maybe they could be a little different between students , due to the lack of expression that the uniform gives us. For instance, in American Private schools students get different choices, for shirts, ties, shoes, etc… There is a uniform code but its not as strict as the one that we have here.”

-Máximo A.

“I said no, but , if every person wears what they want it can be a mess so the school use the uniform just to control that”

-Augustin G.

“Students should be able to choose from different uniform options, as well as Max said, in many schools from other countries, this is something very common. Although uniforms give the school a great and respectful “identity”, it’d be fun to try something new.”

-Martin B.

“No, because the uniform is repetitive, it would be more entertaining, not always be uniform, we should occupy street clothes, and when important events take school uniform.”

-Maria Jose V.

first week

This week several High School classes are visiting the Hub for the first time to sign up for our online platform, schoology.com, and some also had time to play a game. Mr. Garfield, one of the teachers, said that the visit to the hub was “the best time the students have had in my class all year.”

Once students have completed the registration and agreed to the procedures and rules of the center, they will be invited to visit during recess, and come before and after school. There are English newspapers and magazines, games, cable TV, and online games and discussions for them to enjoy. And this is only the beginning!
