360 Videos!!

There is a new kind of videos on youtube!

They are the 360° videos, which are videos where you can move the camera around as you like.

This allows you to watch the video from different points of view and enjoy it even more.

In my opinion this is a great technology advance, and very interesting at the same time. It is difficult to explain it better, so you should live the experience by your own.

Race the “Tube”

A young man in London named James Heptonstall recorded his attempt to race the subway, which Londoners call the “Tube.” How do you race a subway? He started inside the train, and ran out the moment the doors opened to begin running up the stairs, out of the station, and to the next subway station 380 meters away. The goal was to reach the next station in time to board the same train.

In order to record his attempt, he had a go-pro camera on his head, and left a friend with a video camera on the train to prove he made it onto the same train. In addition to feeling very fast, he can also be proud that his video also went viral, and has over 5 million views!

Read more about his attempt here. The BBC has a cool report about how the video went viral, and copycats tried the same stunt in over 20 cities. What do you think? Would you try this?

Why is Hong Kong so Controversial?

This great video from NBC explains the history of Hong Kong and why the people of Hong Kong have a different political situation, and different expectations, than people in the rest of China. Can you understand why ideas about government are especially controversial in this place?

Controversial (n): something that causes arguments and disagreement
