7th Grade Writing Club

This year our seventh grade students are dedicating one hour per week to writing a personal blog, using Kidblog.org. Grammar and digital citizenship lessons punctuate a standard routine of logging in, leaving comments on the blogs written by students at our partner schools around the world, and then writing an original post about any topic of their choice.

While students read and write, they jot down new vocabulary words, grammar rules, or spellings that they pick up along the way, while their classroom teacher and the Hub facilitator circulate to clarify doubts and help with editing. Students evaluate themselves on their personal productivity, the quality of their post, and whether they spoke only English in the Hub before they leave.

Some of our 11th grades students are selecting the best posts and editing them to publish here on our website! You can read them here!

The Kidblog links are below:

Miss Alicia’s Class, Miss Andrea’s Class, Miss Marcela’s Class, Miss Monica’s Class, and Miss Polly’s Class

We are looking for more partner schools, especially from Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
