During the first decades of the 21th century, animation has been improved with the pass from common 2D animation to 3D animation, many companies make this pass including Disney, Pixar and Blue Sky, but today we talk about Dreamworks Animation Studios who released movies like MADAGASCAR, kUNG fU PANDA, OVER THE HEDGE and many other, but all it started with SHREK, a movie with a great success in this recently animation age, the first movie is released in 2001 and the cast is Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy.
The plot is the following: Shrek is an ogre who live smoot in a swamp scaring the villagers, but one day the evil Lord Farquaad sent the fairytale characters to his home, he decided to ask Lord Farquaad to get them back from their tale with the help of a Donkey, when he arrive to Duloc he deals with Farquaad to rescue princess Fiona from the Dragon Tower and reclaim his swamp,so he must arrive to the dragon tower and save the teenager Fiona from a female Dragon, but he fell in love with the princess and must decide is take her to Duloc or marry Fiona.
This movie was a great success in critics as well as in box office and in the Oscars was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Animated Feature winning this last one. The film is followed by many sequels, spin off and specials( SHREK 2, SHREK THE THIRD, SHREK THE HALLS, SCARED SHREKLESS, SHREK FOREVER AFTER AND PUSS IN BOOTS) which turn the movie into a great legacy. This movie is recommended to all ages and tell a great story to te kids in a world where fairytales rules.
