We are OUTSTANDING!

Hey everyone!

As you know, this year we have been working online, with tasks being assigned via Google platform.

There have been many different activities and tasks done by students in the English department and the HUB online and we have been amazed by their outstanding work. We would like to show the work of some of the students’ work and congratulate them for their excellent performance.

Fun Facts About the U.K

This week is the United Kingdom week so here you have some facts about it:

1- The Queen of the UK is the legal owner of one-sixth of the Earth’s land surface.

2- U.S. eggs are illegal in Britain because they are washed. British eggs are illegal in the U.S. because they are not.

3- The UK is the first country in the world to allow the creation of babies from the DNA of three people.

4- The world’s shortest scheduled airline flight lasts 2 minutes. It connects two islands in the UK.

5- There is a limit of 12 minutes of commercials, per hour of television, in the UK.

6- British Pennies are used to adjust the time in London’s Big Ben clock tower.

7- Champagne was invented in England by scientist Christopher Merret in 1662.

8- In the UK, it is illegal to ride a hoverboard scooter in public.

7- The terms “UK” and “Great Britain” are not interchangeable: the United Kingdom includes Northern Ireland, while Great Britain does not.

8- Probably built around 3000 B.C., Stonehenge has stood on England’s Salisbury Plain for more than 5,000 years and is older than the famous Great Pyramids of Egypt.

9- Every day, U.K people drink about 165 million cups of tea.

10- Vegans in the UK went from 150,000 in 2006 to 542,000 in 2016.

11- The first hot chocolate store opened in London

12- football creation: The medieval version of football was so violent that the matches frequently resulted in serious injuries and even death.

International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia

Today is the day to celebrate diversity.  May 17 is now celebrated in more than 130 countries.  They rise and defend differences . They support love, change and happiness.  The date of May 17th was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.

Science Fair

 

On Friday June 26th the Science Fair will be held in laboratories and the Community living for you to enjoy , organized by the Department of Sciences. Students from 7th grade to 12th grade, are presenting a selection of work and research conducted during the year. Also this year the project related in the “Greener Life” competition  will be exhibited in the “patio del encuentro”  . We invite everyone to visit this exhibition, which will be open to the entire community. It will be a great incentive for our students, besides being an opportunity to promote scientific thought and the development of sciences in our schools.
